#picstitch #healthycollegelifestyle That donut fueled a great squat session yesterday during which I landed 125x6 and 130x4 with LEGITIMATE #asstograss form. The last time I attempted such weight, I was probably pulling #halfsquats due to poor mobility. It’s so important to break down complex, full body movements into their component parts and master those before outing it all together, especially under heavy loads.
Proper Squat Form:
👌Feet shoulder width apart
👌Toes turned out slightly if necessary (5-30 degrees)
👌Sit your butt back and focus on keeping your weight in the heels
👌Flare your knees to the side, tracking over your toes or even outside the edge of your feet — this makes room for your hips to reach full extension.
It’s obviously harder to move weight through a wider range of motion, therefore, lighten up the weight until your form has improved before loading that shit on.
